Centauri Health Solutions Achieves HITRUST CSF® Certification to Further Mitigate Risk in Third Party Privacy, Security and Compliance

HITRUST CSF Certification validates a commitment to protecting sensitive member and patient information

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (May 21, 2018) – Centauri Health Solutions, a leading provider of technology-enabled risk-adjustment, quality, and eligibility solutions, today announced its Premium Assist and Best Benefits service lines’ infrastructure has earned Certified status for information security by HITRUST. HITRUST CSF Certified status demonstrates that our organization’s health plan-focused eligibility and enrollment services have met key regulations and industry-defined requirements and are appropriately managing risk.

The Premium Assist and Best Benefits service lines were launched by Human Arc, which Centauri acquired in 2017 to expand its services into government program eligibility enrollment and reimbursement services for health plans and hospitals.

  • Premium Assist serves Medicare Advantage members with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment, which provides an average of over $1,400 in Part B premium savings annually per member.
  • Best Benefits helps certain Medicaid health plan members to enroll in Social Security disability benefits, which provides an average of $8,760 annually per member in additional household income for those who qualify.

“As a healthcare technology solutions innovator, Centauri has long recognized the importance of top-notch security frameworks and protocols,” said Adam Miller, CEO of Centauri Health Solutions. “With our expanded focus into member-centered, quality-of-life services through our Human Arc business, achieving this gold-standard certification assures our health plan clients that our systems meet the highest industry standards in protecting their members’ personal information.”

The HITRUST CSF certification places Centauri in a select group of healthcare service organizations. By including federal and state regulations, standards and frameworks, the HITRUST certification demonstrates that an organization has implemented a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.

“The HITRUST CSF has become the information protection framework for the healthcare industry, and the CSF Assurance program is bringing a new level of effectiveness and efficiency to third-party assurance,” said Ken Vander Wal, Chief Compliance Officer, HITRUST. “The HITRUST CSF Certification is now the benchmark that organizations required to safeguard PHI are measured against with regards to information protection.”

Centauri passed all 19 assessment domains with the required 3+ level rating for the HITRUST CSF certification, which is valid for two years. The domain areas include network protection, portable media security, third party assurance, business continuity and disaster recovery, and others.
